Life Plan & Financials
One of the key advantages of choosing Marquette in Indianapolis, Indiana is that we’re a Life Plan Community—also known as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). This means that if your health needs ever change, you’ll have seamless access to higher levels of care—like assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, or short-term rehab—all conveniently available right here on campus.
Contact UsHow a Life Plan Works
Marquette’s Life Plan requires a one-time entrance fee and ongoing monthly service fees. Fees vary depending on your choice of residence, number of occupants, and type of entrance fee refund plan (see below). As your health needs change, our Life Plan ensures you receive priority access to every level of advanced on-campus care at virtually the same monthly fee as what you pay for your independent living residence. We offer three refundable entrance fee options.
Traditional Plan
A refund is provided on a prorated basis if you leave Marquette for any reason within the first 60 months. The amount is determined by the length of residency.
50% Return-of-Capital® Plan

80% Return-of-Capital® Plan

Life Care vs. Rental Communities and At-Home Aging
When you choose a Life Plan Community like Marquette, you’re choosing more than a beautiful residence — you’re choosing clarity, confidence, and lasting value. Unlike rental senior living communities where healthcare services are billed at full market rates and lease renewals often bring unpredictable cost increases, a Life Plan provides a stable, predictable monthly fee that includes priority access to onsite advanced care. Plus, with Marquette’s estate-preserving contract options, you can plan ahead with true peace of mind.
Marquette’s Life Plan offers exceptional advantages compared to aging at home, too. Instead of managing hidden costs for home modifications, private nursing, or transportation, Marquette residents enjoy maintenance-free living, robust social engagement, and convenient access to a full continuum of care—all without the risks of isolation or surprise expenses.
At Marquette, our Life Plan isn’t just smart financial planning. It’s an investment in your quality of life, security, and independence—today and for the future.

Frequently Asked Questions
Many long-term care insurance policies do not specify where you’ll receive care, so it’s important to consider both the quality and location of care you prefer in the future. Top-rated care centers often have waiting lists, which means you could receive financial benefits from your policy but still find yourself in a community that wasn’t your first choice.
At Marquette, as a Life Plan Community, you have guaranteed access to a full continuum of on-site care—ranging from short-term rehabilitation to skilled nursing, assisted living, and memory care. These services are available whenever you need them at virtually the same cost as your independent living monthly fee.
In some cases, long-term care insurance policies pay a daily benefit even if you are part of a Life Plan Community like Marquette. That benefit may help offset your monthly fee. We recommend reviewing your policy with your insurance broker to confirm the details of your coverage.
A portion of your entrance fee and monthly fees may be tax-deductible as a prepaid medical expense. Consult with your personal tax advisor for details.
If your care needs evolve, you’ll have priority access to a full continuum of care—right on campus. That includes assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation services. You won’t need to relocate elsewhere or face market-rate pricing for advanced care. It’s all part of the value of a Life Plan.
